Q: Are you my MP?
A: If you are not sure whether you live in Rochdale, check the Constituency Locator. Simply type your postcode into the locator and it will tell you whether I am your MP.
Q: How much are you paid, and what other allowances do you get?
A: Salary: In 2005-06, an MP's salary is £59,095. Allowances: As I am a new MP, my allowances have not yet been published. When there are, you will be able to view a summary of MPs' allowances and the expenses I have claimed here.
Q: What are you doing about local issues?
A: I often speak out in Parliament about issues that affect the constituency. Click here to link to my debates and see answers to Parliamentary Questions I have asked.
I aim to always keep in touch with local people about local issues through leaflets, news stories online, and in the local press.
Q: Are you a spokesman for your party in the House of Commons?
A: I am a member of the Liberal Democrat Shadow Transport Team and speak for the party on a variety of Transport issues. I have held this post since June 2005.
